Back-to-School Drive Provides Supplies for 250 Florida Students in Need
First Florida Credit Union provides 250 Florida students in need with back-to-school supplies.
For Immediate Release: August 14, 2017
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hundreds of Florida students in need will return to school this year with backpacks full of supplies thanks to First Florida Credit Union.
First Florida provided the backpacks, and throughout July, the credit union’s employees purchased supplies and filled the backpacks. Additionally, credit union members contributed more than $1,000 to the back-to-school supplies drive.
The
backpacks were delivered to the Children’s Home Society of Florida, a nonprofit that serves children who have been abused, neglected or are in foster care, for distribution.
Michelle Troha, senior vice president of marketing at First Florida, said they held the school supplies drive as part of the credit union’s support for education and schools in the areas it serves.
“We are thrilled to help local students return to school with confidence and the tools they need to succeed,” Troha said. “At First Florida Credit Union, we support students at every stage because we believe education is a key to
future success and happiness.”
