Local Teens to Focus on Financial Literacy at First Florida Credit Union's Camp C.E.O.

For Immediate Release: May 29, 2019

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Teenagers will develop their financial knowledge and skills this week at Camp C.E.O., a free day camp hosted by First Florida Credit Union running from June 3-7 at its County Road 210 branch.

First Florida Credit Union staff will provide lessons and activities that engage students ages 13 to 16 and break down financial concepts in a fun, easy-to-understand format. Camp participants will learn about core financial concepts, including budgeting, building credit and entrepreneurialism.

In addition to daily hands-on instruction, campers will work in groups to create their own business concepts, which they will present to credit union executives on the last day of camp. The week will conclude with an executive lunch alongside First Florida Senior Management that includes a limo ride.

“This is the third year that First Florida Credit Union has offered this unique learning experience for First Coast students,” said Ashleigh Robinson, a community relations specialist with the credit union. “Every year, we’re impressed by how inquisitive and enthusiastic these teens are to learn important skills that will help set them up for financial success.”
